Face-to-face fundraising is one of the most effective ways for nonprofit organisations to attract and retain long-term supporters. It is built on direct, personal conversations—on the street, at the doorstep or in other one-to-one settings—where people are approached, informed and inspired to support a cause.
What sets this approach apart is its immediacy. Fundraisers can respond to questions, address concerns and create trust in real time. This turns initial interest into genuine commitment—and often into long-term support.
Beyond that, face-to-face fundraising plays a crucial strategic role. It helps organisations build a reliable base of regular donors, providing predictable income and enabling long-term planning. In a crowded and increasingly digital communication landscape, this kind of direct interaction becomes even more valuable.
Quality makes the difference
Successful face-to-face fundraising depends on well-trained teams, clear standards and strong ethical principles. Professional onboarding, ongoing coaching and a focus on quality ensure that fundraisers represent their organisations with credibility and confidence. This not only improves results but also strengthens the reputation of the entire channel.
At the same time, its impact goes beyond fundraising itself. Face-to-face brings social issues into public spaces, starts conversations and raises awareness in everyday life. It makes engagement visible—and tangible.
A space to connect
Face-to-face fundraising remains a key pillar of successful nonprofit strategies because it creates something other channels often cannot: real human connection.
But this connection does not sustain itself. It requires continuous development—new ideas, shared standards and a willingness to learn from each other. Organisations that invest in skills, exchange and innovation are the ones that unlock the full potential of this channel.
This is where international platforms become essential.
Learning, sharing and shaping the future
In 2025, the 2nd International Face-to-Face Fundraising Congress brought together professionals from around the world to exchange ideas, share experiences and move the sector forward.
Over three days, participants explored topics such as global trends, innovation, digital transformation, donor engagement and data-driven fundraising. Experts shared insights and practical examples, while workshops offered space for discussion and hands-on learning.
More importantly, the congress created an environment where people could connect openly, challenge perspectives and learn from one another. It reinforced a shared ambition: to strengthen and continuously improve face-to-face fundraising worldwide.
Looking ahead: The next chapter
Building on this momentum, the journey continues.
The 3rd International Face-to-Face Fundraising Congress, taking place from 15–17 March 2027, will once again bring the global community together—with an even stronger focus on collaboration, innovation and future readiness.
If you want to develop your approach, gain new perspectives and connect with peers from across the sector, this is the place to be.
