Purposes of processing and their legal basis

We use the personal data provided to us for the following purposes:

Processing for the purpose of member administration of the data of our members and applicants based on the membership agreement between the association and the member (or as a pre-contractual measure of applicants) based on Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of the contract)
Processing of personal data of members for purposes of information on association activities based on Article 6 paragraph 1 letter b GDPR (contract performance)
For registration of members and non-members for events and seminars, personal processing of name and date of the event, attended modules or seminars, a documentation of attendance, for billing purposes (contract performance) based on Article 6 paragraph 1 letter b GDPR.
Processing of data of interested parties or former members for direct marketing purposes, based on Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent newsletter).
Processing of cookies to improve the website based on Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest)The provision of name data and organizational data is required for joining and membership management. In the case of non-provisioning, membership in the FVA can not be completed.
Attendants of events must provide their names and the names of their organization. In the case of non-provisioning, participation in events of the FVA is not possible.

Description of the legitimate interest

The Austrian Fundraising Association is an advocacy and umbrella organization for fundraising organizations. On the basis of our statutes (available at: there are regular postal and electronic promotional activities for events of the Austrian Fundraising Association. These events serve to promote the association┬┤s goals. The processing of personal data for direct marketing, according to recital 47 GDPR, constitutes a legitimate interest if the processing is necessary for the fulfillment of the legitimate interest and corresponds to the reasonable expectations of the persons concerned.

In the process, we process personal data of members and interested parties in particular to enable optimal advertising so that targeted actions can be taken to fulfill the organizational goals. In particular, the interests of employees of NPOs and NPOs should be met in the best possible way, and scattering losses should be avoided. This should also ensure that financial resources can be used as cost-effectively as possible in the interests of all members.

Web analytics

Our website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Our website allows you to share links to our content on social media platforms through so-called “social bookmarks”, whereby initially no personal data is transmitted to these providers.
